At least 20 quilts to be shown and a handout will be distributed. Annual Business Meeting and Election of Officers Luncheon catered by TJs Supper Club Hannibal Plenty of time left to visit the Hickory Stick Quilt Shop and the local Hannibal Piecemakers Quilt Show going on this weekend. Watch for Registration form, cost, directions to location and other details in your March Newsletter In this workshop we will be using strip piecing to make propeller blocks. This is a very easy block but by using the same fabric for the block background, a secondary propeller is created. The resulting quilt shows lots of movement not so much work. This work shop is for all levels. With 1 yard of 2 different fabrics, a 40” x 40” quilt with no borders can be cut and pieced in 3 hours. For some quilters who would like to make a more difficult quilt, scraps and charm squares can be used. Take this quilt to the top end by using a diagonally printed stripe and a coordinating background fabric that makes x and o designed blocks that look oh so great with no bias edges. Easy cutting and piecing gives everyone a chance to enjoy the process and visit with friends at the same time. |
