Fall Retreat Update February 2012
So far, we have class contracts getting underway, vendor contacts being made and meals being
discussed.
Our volunteers are threading their needles and getting ready to sew-SO, we thought you needed to
KNOW!
• Our challenge this year is again a small quilt for kids in hospitals; please feel free to bring more than
one if you have the time to do so! Anything goes as pain is universal, and comfort is too!
• The Scrampler challenge can be found in the Fall Retreat and Newsletter section of this web site, if
you still need fabric please let me know. psmith75@centurytel.net.
• Our FRIENDSHIP block this year is a 12 ½ crazy block, with your signature in one light colored
space. You may embellish your black(s) any way you chose. Please be sure to sign them, as it is a
friendship exchange. Make as many as you like, the more you make the better your chances of winning
enough to make your own quilt! If you need a pattern or starting place please contact

• Friday evening Strippers Bingo-Make your cards and clean out some stash but cutting 2 ½-inch
strips!
• Saturday- start thinking about your choice of classes, we have half-day classes with Yo-Yo’s again,
Miniature quilt made easy with Lisa Curtis and new this year Beginners Tatting. Kathy Delaney will
demonstrate techniques for trapunto and Beginner’s applique. That Spicy Spiral table runner is sure to be
fun along with a Pineapple Prairie Point wall hanging, not to leave out our full day class offerings of Old
Field Road with Gayla Barber and Paper piecing your choice of table runner, place mats or a quilt top
done with 2 ½ in strips and May Snook.
• Lots of show and tell, show and sell and vendors galore! Way & Means has been busy as well
working on raffle items to wish for!
Remember Spring Meeting in Hannibal. It sounds like it should be a great time with the class, meeting,
show and tell along with the local quilt show and of course shopping! We will have class samples and
more information for you regarding fall retreat available as well.
