                “SHOW Me” QUILTS 2011 QUILT SHOW
                           AT POWELL GARDENS

                                    April 25 to May 1

                                          9:00 to 5:00



  Powell Gardens located in Kingsville, MO will open its doors for a State wide quilt
show. Over 100 garden themed quilts, vendors (on Friday and Saturday),
demonstrations and beautiful gardens are featured at the Missouri State Quilt Guild
quilt show held only every 5 or 6 years.  The state wide show begins with a preview
Monday afternoon April 25 at 3:00 and will end May 1 at 1:00. Continuous
demonstration includes hand quilting, machine piecing and serging.  A special
demonstration will be at 2:00 each day in the lobby. People who help with the show will
be wearing a handmade flower nametag.

The Rambling River project, 15 different wall hangings to make a winding 22 foot river
scene, will be featured. In the gardens will be a series of painted barn doors with
traditional quilt patterns such as “Farmer’s Daughter” and “Corn and Beans”.  A
special quilt block pattern has been designed call “Missouri Gardens” and will be free
to guests. Several children’s activities are included in the show.  The quilt guild has
about 300 members and will conduct its Annual Spring Meeting at Powell Gardens on
April 30.
